Made by Hand, Rooted in Community
At the heart of our kitchen utensil collection is a community of skilled artisans coordinated by Mali, whose own family are among the group. Together, they transform Golden Teak (Tectona grandis), sourced from Government-authorised plantations in Thailand, into utensils that are individually shaped, finished and polished by hand.
We maintain a close relationship with Mali and the group, giving us a genuine connection to the people and craftsmanship behind every piece. Our utensils are supplied untreated to preserve the natural character of the teak and can be cared for occasionally with food-safe oil to protect the wood and enhance its appearance and longevity.

It Starts with Golden Teak
The raw material behind our collection. Golden Teak sourced from Government-authorised sustainable plantations in Thailand before being transformed by the artisan group.
A Community at Work
Artisans work alongside one another in the open-air workshop, each contributing to the shaping and finishing of our teak utensils.
Shaped from the Start
.Each utensil begins with its shape carefully marked onto the teak, ready for the first stages of cutting and forming by hand.
Taking Shape
Freshly cut teak blanks begin to resemble the finished utensils, but there is still considerable shaping, smoothing and finishing to come.
Shaped by Hand
Each piece is individually worked by the artisan, gradually refining the shape and bringing out the natural character of the teak.
Refining Each Piece
The shaping continues by hand, carefully refining the curves and edges that make each finished utensil comfortable to hold and use.
The Finishing Touches
Each utensil is carefully smoothed and finished by hand, removing rough edges and preparing the teak for its final polish.

The final smoothing reveals the grain and warmth of the Golden Teak, completing a utensil individually shaped, finished and polished by hand.
